East Asian Medicine
I am an integrative East Asian Medicine practitioner based in downtown Boise, Idaho. My practice is grounded in a holistic approach to alleviate pain, reduce stress and optimize your body’s vitality to feel your best, all while being mindful of the needs and nuances of modern Western life. I offer my patients practical solutions and personal pathways toward healing, using acupuncture, herbal therapy and other traditional therapies to aid each of my patients in regaining wellness.
What to expect
Acupuncture is the practice of placing fine, sterile needles at precise locations in the skin to increase circulation and elicit a therapeutic response in the body.
Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy where refined mugwort is burned on acupuncture points, either directly on the skin or on the needle. It increases blood flow and supports the body’s natural healing process.
Herbal medicine has been practiced for thousands of years and is a powerful therapy to treat the internal symptoms of the body. It involves the use of plants and is prescribed based on the individual needs of each patient.
Cupping releases toxins and tension from tissue. Small cups are suctioned onto the skin, then left in place for several minutes to draw blood and fluid to the precise location, stimulating the body’s natural healing process.
Tui Na is a form of Chinese medical massage commonly used in conjunction with acupuncture. It utilizes different techniques to increase blood flow and treat blockages and stagnations that lead to musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders.
Nutrition is not only used as medicine to heal the body, but can be tailored to treat each patient’s individual needs. My goal is to educate each patient to choose foods to improve their health and promote longevity.
